Transform Your Diabetes Week 2

week 2 Recap

Let's talk about hypo's

Low blood glucose levels are a common feature of diabetes, particularly if you are using insulin or a class of drugs for type 2 diabetes called Sulfonylureas. After a low blood glucose level we usually end up feeling pretty awful  for a while and worse still we start to ride the infamous blood glucose rollercoaster where our blood glucose rebounds from really low to really high and it just keeps on repeating this cycle.

The Good News is

We can stop the blood glucose roller coaster.

This session talks about why hypos happen, even in people without diabetes, how to manage them if you do have diabetes and strategies for stopping the blood glucose rollercoaster.

Why is this important now? As we move forwards we are going to increase insulin sensitivity and this could result in more hypos. The program is designed to minimise this, however, it is essential that we talk about how to manage low blood glucose levels safely as we start your journey to reversing insulin resistance.
